Luke Williams, is my direct ancestor, and I wrote a book on this family in 1974, author Dona Vance, daughter of Frankie Wiliams, granddaughter of Judge Alvin Luke Williams of Ft. Worth, Texas, and District Judge of Fairbanks, Alaska, 1961 - 1966, copyrited in Washington, D.C. All information in my book was given directly to me by their direct ancestors in Georgia, North Carolina and Texas. These direct interviews, all taped and recorded, transcribed, and created my book called "Williams Family History". Included in this book is the WILL OF LUKE WILLIAMS, HALIFAX COUNTY, VIRGINIA, DATED MARCH 26, 1810. In his will, Luke Williams named his son, William Williams, his son, Luke Williams, his daughter Catherine (Caty) Williams, and her husband Edmund Irby, naming Edmund Irby in his will, also naming William Irby; also naming his daughter, Betsy Twidwell, his son Zachariah Williams, and John Chapman, dated February 9, 1810, Witnessed by Joseph Terry, Charles Womack, and William Synnor.
Information on my family also was given to me by Olive Stone, of Provo, Utah.
Information also given to me by MORGAN genealogy on the 1983 Ancestry website, of the older version, it was not founded until 1983. In the 1980's version, the first Ancestry website, MORGAN also provided that version on that website, after 1983, when Ancestry was first founded. It was not on computers until after 1985. All of that version of the older Ancestry was also printed out by me at that time after I had already finished my book.
In Virginia, there were church records recording a second possible marriage to Mary (Bush) Parr, daughter of John Bush. Early church records.
Dona Floyd Kimmons is a member of the "Daughters of the American Revolution" under Elijah Cornwell, also of this same family, and Luke Williams, DAR records. The Williams family are buried in the WILLIAMS CEMETERY in Monticello,, Jasper County, Georgia.
