Biography

Moses Bates Williams was born on 4 August 1860 to Claudius L. and Martha B (Robards) Williams in Henderson County, Kentucky. He grew up in and around the same area, and met and married Dora A. Denton on March 8, 1886 in Henderson County, Kentucky. Moses Bates and Dora had 5 children, 4 boys and 1 girl, between 1886 and 1895. Dora passed away in 1896. Moses Bates met and married his second wife, Mary A. Gosnell, around 1905. They had 5 children, 2 girls and 3 boys, between 1907 and 1919. Moses died on January 27, 1927 in Henderson County, Kentucky, and is buried in either Christodelphian Cemetery or Ridgewood Cemetery.
