Biography

James Devane Williams, 90 of Valparaiso, FL. 5/19/1924-12/16/2014. Devane was born in Bonifay, FL to the late Dougal and Nellie Mae Williams. He was a native of Holmes County and attended Bonifay High School and Bethlehem High School, graduat- ing in 1943. He served in the Navy aboard the USS Altair during World War II and was a Civil Service employee for more than 37 years. He was preceded in death by son, Hugh Brian Williams. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Amy Luverne Whita- ker Williams; four children, Carl (Joan) Williams of Fla., Stanley (Shirley) Williams of NC, Dennis Williams of Fla. and Anita (Dennis) Townsend of Ga.; eight grandchildren, Keith (Ashley) Williams of Fla., Curtis Williams of USAF, Amy (Colby) Jackson of NC, Chad (Roxanne) Williams of NC, JaeDe (Michelle) Williams of Fla., Amber Williams of Ga., Clinton Townsend of Ga., and Malori Townsend of Ga.; nine great-grandchildren and many nephews and nieces.
