Near the end of the 1930's his mother, Dorothy died and his father, Willard went seeking work and left both children with their Great Aunt Edna May Bauersachs and Great Uncle Marcus Bauersachs to live. The children lived with them until Great Aunt Edna May died June 10, 1940. There is no information about where Richard and his sister, Nathalia lived after that. Their father Willard went to Hawaii in 1942 after the Pearl Harbor attack and was believed to have died sometime in the 1940's in Hawaii. Actually, Willard died October 4, 1999 and left a widow in Hawaii.
Richard grew up in spite of it all and settled in Aurora, Colorado[3][4][5][6] until his death July 9, 1995.[7] There is no information about if he married or had children or where he is buried.
