Tom Williams is somethiing of a mystery in this family. He was probably born in Calhoun County, Alabama but records of his origin have not been located. After his marriage in Calhoun County, he seems to have lived there with his family until the 1890's when he took his oldest daughter Minnie to Texas. It is not clear whether his wife Julia and the younger children went with them. There is an unproved family tradition that Tom became a Texas Ranger, but no record of this has been found. Tom and Minnie appear to have settled in Goodette, Texas where Minnie married and died young. Tom returned to Alabama where he died.
