WILLIAMS-GRIBBLE-On Saturday, June 7th, by the Rev. Mr Watkin, at the residence of the bride's father-W. Rowe Esq., M.H.R,, —Mrs Priscilla Gribble, relict of the late Mr John Gribble, to Mr Richard Eustace Williams, late of California and Cornwall. —California and Cornwall papers please copy.[4]

One of the best-known of the older New Zealand mining engineers, Mr. Richard Eustace Williams, Remuera, Auckland, died on Saturday, aged 86.[6]
OBITUARY
MR. R. E. WILLIAMS T one of the best-known of the older New Zealand -mining engineers, Mr. Richard Eustace ,Williams, of Ladies' Mile, Remuera, died on Saturday, aged 86. Mr. Williams was born in Cornwall of a mining family, and as a young man went to Nevada, where he worked for the famous Comstock Lode. From the United States he went to Broken Hill, and then to Western Australia. In 1899 he came to New Zealand, taking up work first at Waitekauri and later at Waihi, where he became underground manager and assistant superintendent. This position he held until 1913, when he retired and settled in Auckland. For 27 years prior to 1940 Mr. Williams was a director of Wilsons (N.Z.) Portland Cement Company, Limited. He was a member of the Remuera Bowling Club from 1913 until two years ago, and a past president. He is survived by two sons and a daughter.[7]
