Company C, 39th Georgia Infantry. Enlisted 10 March 1862 in Whitfield County, Georgia in same company as brother Amos Williams. Captured at 1 June 1863 at Cynthiana, KY. Received at Camp Chase, Ohio on 10 June 1863. Transfered 14 June 1863 to Johnson's Island, Sandusky, Ohio. Transfered to Point Lookout Prison 30 October 1863. Admitted to Hammond General Hospital 23 November 1863. Died of consumption 1 January 1864.
