Thomas Wheeler Williams was born 14 Jul 1815 at Norwich, Connecticut. He was the first child of Harriet Peck & William Williams of Norwich and Stonington, respectively.
Thomas Wheeler Williams was a partner in his father's whaling firm, Williams & Barns. Thomas and Amanda established a fund to support indigent sailors in New London.
Note: Care should be observed so as not to confuse this Thomas Wheeler Williams from his paternal uncle Thomas Wheeler Williams who was also in the whaling and sealing business, who became president of the New London Northern Railroad Co., and who served two terms in the U.S. Congress.
