Biography

Abigail Williams, daughter of Judge James and Sarah (Barney) WIlliams, was born around 1730^[1] in Taunton, Massachusetts.^[2]

She married Simeon Tisdale, son of Joseph and Ruth (Reed) Tisdale, around 1746.

Abigail died on 16 June 1758 in the 28th year of her age, as inscribed on her gravestone at the Plains Cemetery in Taunton.^[1]

SImeon married, second, a third cousin of Abigail's, Phebe (Williams) Hart, before he died in 1762. Phebe then remarried, and so was named Phebe Harlow during a portion of her administration of Simeon's estate.

Simeon and Abigail's children became wards of their uncle, Abigail's brother, Brigadier General James Williams.^[2][3]

Abigail's father, Judge James, executed his last will on 29 August 1774, directing that his son James pay "to my grand children, ye children of my daughter Abigail Tisdale deceased, within one year after my decease, thirty pounds, viz. James, Simeon, Joseph and Abigail, seven pounds, ten shillings each.^[10]
