Biography

Ann Williams was a daughter of Walter Williams. In the will of Sir Richard Williams alias Cromwell[1] made on 20 Jun 1545 and proved 24 Nov 1546 he willed to Joan and Ann the daughters of his brother "Water Crumwell" two hundred pounds each.

The Judde memorial painting of 1560 [Collection of the Dulwich Art Gallery] probably portrays William Judde and his wife, either Joan or Ann Williams alias Cromwell.[2] In the painting she is recorded age 28 hence her year of birth may have been around 1532.
