The Caversham, Oxfordshire Parish Record "definitely establishes" that a Mary Williams married John Benson (1608-1678) there on Oct. 14, 1633. There was insufficient evidence found to identify her parents.[1]
"John Binson of Gowsham Oxfordshire, Husbandmn," wife Mary and their two young children, John and Mary, sailed on the "Confidence" in April of 1638.[2] They settled first at Hingham, where three more children, Joseph, Martha, and Abigail were born:[1]
Mary died on 14 Dec 1681 in Hull, Sullolk County.[3] Her burial location is unknown.
Disputed parents: Robert Williams and Agnes (Atkins) Williams have been detached as the parents of Mary (Williams) Benson since there is insufficient evidence of these relationships. Disputed child: A daughter Abigail Benson (1624-1678) was previously attached, but has been removed lacking reliable sources.
