Jess Williamson

Jess Williamson was born in 1862 in Wilson County, Tenn., and departed this life, Aug. 15, 1945 at the age of eighty-three. When a small boy the family moved to Caldwell County and located in the White Sulphur community where he resided until 1930, then moving to Princeton.

In 1893 he was married to Elizabeth Lewis. To this union were born seven children, five of whom are left to mourn his passing namely, Charles and Edward of Princeton, Lucile Hobby and Mildred Williamson, Detroit, Mich., and Mrs. Thurman Clayton, Evansville, Ind. Besides the widow and above children he leaves four brothers Emmerson, Austin, Zack and Jim of the county, two sisters Mrs. Ada Lewis of Detroit, and Mrs. Nannie Farmer, New Albany, Ind., also fourteen grandchildren.

He was a lifelong Democrat and as long as his health permitted was an ardent fox hunter. Consoling funeral services were conducted by Rev. John T. Cunningham at White Sulphur Church with burial in the church cemetery. Pallbearers included: Phil Robinson, Fred Stevenson, Raymond Jenkins, Porter Rogers, Dud Boitnott and George Wilkerson.

Zack's obituary states that he was died on Aug. 15,1945, but his headstone shows Aug.16,1945. August 16, 1945 in the correct date.
