John Williamson was born circa 1750, in Virginia. John served as a Second Lieutenant in the Fluvanna county Militia, [Virginia Line] during the American Revolutionary War. [1] The Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution honor his for his military service as Ancestro #A126900. John married Sarah Fitzpatrick, daughter of Thomas Fitzpatrick (DAR Ancestor # A131657) immigrant from Ireland, who did not serve in the military, but did furnish supplies to support the troops. Application for membership in the Society have been made by the descendants of their son, John Williamson, II, who married Mary "Polly" Seay. John died after March, 1798, in Fluvanna county, Virginia.
The John Williamson found on the United States Census of Fluvanna, Virginia, in 1820, is probably John's son. [2]
