Biography

Marshall Williamson was born August 6, 1843, the son of John Squire and Nancy (Paulhamus) Williamson. His mother died a short time after his birth and he was raised by a step-mother, Jane E. (Grove) Williamson. In 1850, his family was in Lycoming, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. [1]

Marshall was a Civil War veteran. He served in Company K of the 37th Regiment, Pennsylvania Infantry Militia.[2]

He married Phoebe "Pet" Olmstead about 1866. They had 5 children, 2 who lived into adulthood. In 1870 they were found in Jersey Mills and in 1880 in Mifflin Township. [3] [4] He was often listed as a farmer, but his son gave his occupation as "Circular Sawman." In 1900, they were in Williamsport, PA, where Marshall was a Salesman for a Grocery business. [5]

The family had a strong connection to Jersey Shore, PA. Marshall, Phoebe, and Oella Williamson were accepted into the Jersey Shore Methodist Church on April 9, 1905. [6]

Marshall Williamson died on January 3, 1919, as the result of heart disease. He died at 75 years, 4 months, and 27 days. [7]

He was buried in Jersey Shore Cemetery, Jersey Shore, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. [8]
