Biography

Hannah was born in 1818 the daughter of Moses Williamson and Hannah Linn, her parents were cousins, both born in Fort Henry, Ohio County, Virginia, Moses was the son of Thomas Williamson & Elizabeth Anderson who both died in Tyler Co. West Virginia and Hannah Linn was the daughter of Issac Linn and Mary Williamson, their eldson son was John Linn of Monroe Co. Ohio. Thomas died 1839 at Fairview Landing, a weaver by trade & begot 12 children.

Her father is often confused with Moses Williamson born Green Co., PA 1784 the son of John Williamson and Elizabeth Shepard & John was the youngest son of Moses Williamson Sr. this Moses married Sarah Nancy Ball, both died Tyler Co. WV Moses died 1883 age 99 the couple also gave birth to a son Moses 1809. John died 1856 age 97, Tyler Co. WV.

Mary Williamson Linn was the sister to Thomas daugther of Jane Mills born Howard Co. MD & Moses Williamson Sr. her 3 sisters married George, Joseph and William Cline all sons of George Cline born 1740 Germany & Revolutionary War hero alone with the Williamson brothers and Issac Linn who fought off the British and Indians who besiezed Fort Henry twice 1777 and 1782, Issac was held captive by the Delawares for 8 years and killed his young brothers during the French and Indian War 1760.

Another son of Moses Williamson Sr. was Samuel Williamson born 1745 MD & died 1808, was the justice of the peace for Grandview Twp. Washington County, Ohio and buried in Mound Cemetery. Sam was married three times & three of his sons where William, James and Moses. William was the father of Hannah Williamson born 1812 who married Leonard Eoff 1840. Grandview Twp. the couple worked on Riverboats on the Ohio River and Hannah died 1895 Lee County, Iowa. William died in Texas by the Civil War and his son was Hannibal Williamson of New Matamoras, Ohio.

Hannah Williamson Pool is often confused with her cousin Hannah Williamson Eoff. Hannah's 4 brothers were Isaac born 1807 Tyler, VA & died 1887 Perry, Monroe Co. OH; Moses born 1808; Thomas and Ananias, Thomas died 1860 and Annanis after 1870. Moses their father I believe died 1859. Moses Williamson the son of Samuel moved to Indiana after the Civil War and his brother is James Williamson of Monroe Co. eldest son of Samuel.

Tabitha was the name of Jane Mills grandmother or sister and passed downed another 5 generations. The Pool's, Williamson's, Linn's, Cline's, Tice's, Barnhart's have married cousins for eight generations, Tyler Co. WV is across the Ohio River to Monroe, Ohio

Hannah Williamson Poole actual death date unknown, the 1880 Census was last public record. Not found in Ohio Deaths or WV Deaths. William Pool lived in Marietta, Ohio a widower, cook and age 82, source 1900 Census, He died in 1901, Williamstown, WV and burial in Oak Grove Cemetery, Marietta, Ohio.
