Biography

William was born in 1843. He is the son of Samuel Williford and Martha Dismukes.

William served as a private in the Civil War with Company K of Georgia's 17th Infantry Regiment of the Confederate States of America.

Williford, William H. -- Private Aug. 15, 1861. Admitted to Chimborazo Hospital #3, at Richmond, Va. Apr. 29, 1862, and died there May 10, 1862. Cause of death is not reported but based on information that 24 members of Company K died of illness as opposed to 5 killed in action, William most likely died of illness.
