Mary was born in 1714 in Fairfield, Gloucester, Virginia, USA. She was the daughter of Francis Willis Esq. and Anne (Rich) Willis.
Mary died at the age of about 28 - 32 on 29 May 1746 in White Marsh, Gloucester, Virginia.
NOTE: Nathaniel was born in 1735, not 1748 which is two years after his mother died. - Jayne Peace Pyle
Find A Grave says Mary was born 12 Oct 1718 VA and died 22 May 1746 VA, however Virginia, U.S., Extracted Vital Records, 1660-1923 lists her death date as 29 May 1746. I cannot find a source, other than my family records, that state when she was born, but I think she was born in 1718. Anyone who can help here, please do. -Jayne Peace Pyle

Biography
Lewis Burwell III was born in 1711 at Fairfield, the residence on Carter's Creek in Gloucester County of his parents, Elizabeth Carter Burwell and her first husband, Nathaniel Burwell (1680–1721).
His grandfathers were Lewis Burwell (d. 1710), a wealthy Gloucester County planter, and Robert "King" Carter, one of the wealthiest men in North America, who served as president of the governor's Council. Burwell's younger brother, Carter Burwell, who built Carter's Grove in James City County.[1]
In October 1736, Lewis Burwell married Mary Willis. The couple had the following children: by Jayne Peace Pyle
1) Anne Burwell (1733- )
2) Nathaniel Burwell (1735- )
3) Lewis Burwell II (1737-1779) m. Judith Page
4) Sarah "Lucy" Burwell (1740-1779) m. Thomas Weathersbee
5) Elizabeth Burwell (1742- )
6) Mary "Polly" Burwell (1744-1809) m. Lewis Hale
7) Rebecca Lewis Burwell (1746-1806) m. Jaquelin Ambler
In the Burwell history, online, it states that Lewis Burwell II was their first child, so I'm guessing the first two children had either a different father or a different mother. -Jayne Peace Pyle
A child that was claimed to be her son, Nathaniel Burwell was born in about 1748, however, she was already deceased by then. Research should be done to confirm his birth year or parentage.
