Biography

Henry Willoughby son of John Willoughby and his wife, Frances Hawe, was born on 14 September 1579. ^[1]

He married firstly 25 year old Elizabeth Knollys, daughter of Sir Henry Knollys and his wife, Margaret Cave.^[1] His marriage to Elizabeth Knollys was after 6 February 1605, which is the date of an Indenture (marriage) dated 31 August I Jas. between Margaret Knollis widow late the wife of Henry Knollis and John Willoughby in consideration of marriage between Henry Willoughby son and heir and Elizabeth Knollis eldest daughter of said Margaret.

He was created baronet Willoughby of Risley on 29 June 1611. ^[1] Henry's second wife whom he married in 1621 was Lettice Darcy second daughter and co-heir of Sir Francis Darcy of Bramford in Middlesex. He died 20 November 1649. Since he had no sons the baronetcy became extinct. ^[1]
