Mrs. Prudence Pennington, wife of John M. Pennington (M. initial is in error and should be J. -mgp) died at their home in Carroll Co, Saturday last, the remains were brought to California, resting at the home of Sheriff Jesse Hornbeck, a relative, the funeral services at Mt. Pleasant Church, Monday, Rev. N. Allee, of the Babtist church officiating.

Mrs. Pennington's maiden name was Wilson, the youngest child of Joseph Wilson, and was born over on Howard's Creek, in Linn Twp, forty years ago. The family have lived in Carroll County several years. Her husband and a young son survive her.

Mrs. Pennington joined the Baptist at Old Union in Linn Twp early in life and was a consistent, good woman. Her mother was a Wood, sister of Jeriah Wood and there are many relatives in Moniteau County. ^[1]

I am suspecting that Prudence's mother and father lived in Moniteau Co. MO. Jefferson B. Pennington was said to be buried in the Wilson Cemetery. Here is some WILSON's I have found in Carroll Co. Prudy Pennington (nee Wilson) has a grave stone marker in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Cooper Co., MO. It does not have any dates on the stone.
