Obituary

Mary Luella Scriven, a longtime resident of the Clayton area, died in Spokane April 14th 1964. Internment was in Fairmont Memorial Park.

Mary Luella Wilson was born in Richland County, Wisconsin in 1876. She grew to womanhood there. At the age of 18 she married Mansel Reed, and to them two daughters were born. Mr. Reed and the older daughter passed away and the younger daughter is Mrs. Wilda Nord of Clayton.

In 1901, she was married to John W. Scriven and to them were born six children, four daughters and two sons. The daughters are Mrs. Thelma Lindh of Clayton, Mrs. Alice Jose of Spokane and Mrs. Cora CUff, Deer Park. The other daughter. Mrs. Mabel Harris, died in 1935. The two sons are Thomas Scriven of Deer Park and Raymond Scriven of Spokane. She was also survived by 18 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Mertie Bryan of Viroqua, Wisconsin.

The family lived in Wisconsin, then moved to Missouri and on to Montana, and the Black Hills of South Dakota before coming to Washington in 1938.

Mr. Scriven died in Spokane on July 10, 1958.
