Added Revolutionary War service, which includes his spouse, from the DAR database and sourced with DAR approved citation. Added the 1776 sticker. Added who his father was, where his father lived, who he married, when and where, and by whom. Where they moved a year after they married which was lincoln County, Georgia. Robert Wilson Junior was the son of Robert Wilson Senior who lived before during and after Revolutionary war at Steele Creek in the County of Mecklenburg State of North Carolina.

Married Jane McDowell at her fathers house on the (blank) day of February (the second or third Thursday of said month) in the year 1783 or 1784 by the Revd James McRee in Mecklenburg.

The year after their marriage, they removed to Lincoln County, State of Georgia, where they lived five or six years. [2]Eileen Bradley

"About 1792, the sons of Robert and Eleanor (Wilson) moved to Tennessee. Robert Wilson II was said to have been the first man to cross the Cumberland Mountains with a wagon. He married Jane McDowell, daughter of William and Ellen McDowell of York County, South Carolina. Both Jane and her mother went to King's Mountain after the battle and remained several days caring for the wounded soldier. It was said that William McDowell gave his only daughter in marriage because of the bravery that Robert Wilson displayed at King's Mountain. Jane McDowell was a very courageous woman, also molding bullets for Gen. McDowell and his men for the Battle of King's Mountain. Robert Wilson #2 , was born in 1760 and died in1819. Jane Wilson was born in 1761 and died in 1853. They are buried in a family graveyard in the part of the county that is now Rutherford County, between Allisona and Eagleville. Their children were (8):Eleanor, Jane, Mary, Asenath, Cynthia, Martha, Louise, Matilda.

Robert Wilson was one of the eleven sons of Robert and Eleanor(Carothers) Wilson, of whom seven served in the American Revolution.
