In 1746, the town of Nixonton laid out in Pasquotank County on a site along the Little River originally known as "Windmill Point." It was incorporated in 1758 as Nixon’s Town, named for Zachariah Nixon, an early settler and prominent Quaker.

Robert and Rachel Pritlowe Wilson's Children, all born in Perquimans County, are listed in the Quaker Records.
Based on this information it is obvious that this couple cannot be the parents of the brothers Robert, David, and Zacheus who are found in Mecklenburg County, as some have claimed.
