Stanley was born in Streator, USA according to the 1911 UK census (mis-spelled as Streaton), as were two of his siblings, the son of Joshua and Minnie Annie.
The 1911 census tells us he was a best chair maker working in the High Wycombe furniture industry. Minnie was a dressmaker also doing domestic work.
He married Minnie Cosgrove in 1928 at Prestwood, Buckinghamshire. Witnessed by George Cosgrove, Minnie Cosgrove and Minnie A Wiltshire. He was a commercial traveller living in High Wycombe, and his father Joshua was a fruiterer. Minnie's father George was a decorator.
In 1939 Stanley was still working as a commercial traveller, and living in Hazlemere, just outside Wycombe.
He died in 1983.
Research Notes
Streator is in LaSalle, Illinois. It seems certain he was from this township as he was living in a house named LaSalle in 1939.
