Sarah Alvira Winch was born 22 Nov 1851 in Richmond Center, Ashtabula County, Ohio. She was the daughter of Ethelbert Winch (8 May 1822 Richmond OH--13 Apr 1857 Ashtabula OH) and Hannah C Sturges (born c 1827). She was the granddaughter of:

1. David Winch (9 Oct 1797 VT--18 Feb 1879 Ashtabula) and Laura Shepard (9 May 1803 NY--8 Aug 1894). They are buried in Padanaram Cemetery in Richmond OH.
2. granddaughter of David Sturges and Elvira Padden (29 May 1803 VT--1 June 1845 Crawford Co PA) and the
3. great-granddaughter of Abijah Winch and Rebecaa Warren.
