Biography

Joseph Wislow, son of Joseph Winslow and Sarah (Lawrence) Winslow, was born 16 Jun 1677 in Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts Bay Colony.[1][2] Joseph Winslow died in Dutchess County, New York between 6 April 1760 and 18 April 1761.

Joseph Wislow married first Abigail Snethen on 24 November 1721.[3] Joseph Wislow married second Margaret Keyser, a widow 18 June 1742[4]

"Joseph was taxed in either Fishkill or Rumbout in 1735/6, 1739/40, 1741/2, and as late as June 1757."[5]

Joseph Winslow's will, "dated 6 April 1760 attested 18 April 1761," cites his unnamed children and unnamed grandchildren of his daughter Sarah. He names his two sons Samuel Winslow and Joseph Winslow as executors. His son Joseph was "sworn in as executor 28 April 1761 in New York City."[5]

The children of Joseph Winslow and Abigail (Snethen) Winslow are as follows:

  1. Samuel Winslow born about 1725.[5]
  2. Joseph Winslow born about 1725-30.[5]
  3. Sarah Winslow born about 1725-30.[5]

"It is possible there are other children, such as John Winslow who witnessed a will in Beakmans Precinct in 1751, and Hannah Winslow whose marriage in 1757 is recorded in the Rumbout Presbyterian Church; however, no evidence was found connecting them to Joseph Winslow."[5]
