Clara Deloris Childers, 78, of the Conley's Creek Community, went home to be with the Lord Monday, February 21, 2011 after an extended Illness. Born in Elizabeth Town, Ill., she was the daughter of the late Charlie and Mary Hinton Winters. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Troy Childers; two half sisters, Betty Glascock, and Judy McGowan. She loved her flowers and cats.
She is survived by a step-son, Bob Childers of Hendersonville; two sisters, Margaret Desilisle of Pontiac, Mich., Elnora Whittaker of Lincoln, Calif.; and one half sister, Mary Louise Loftus of Mabanoy City, Pa.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 23 at Whittier Church of God of which she was a very active member. The Revs. Ned Pressley and Clarke Sheffield will officiate with burial in Union Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Crisp Funeral Home where the body will remain until placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service.
