When you post DNA test information on a WikiTree profile, WikiTree needs to be able to see the profile Family Tree Tab (top of WikiTree Profile) to make DNA connections down the ancestral lines.
I would like to suggest that you change the privacy level on this profile and all of the ancestors to be at a level that allows everyone to see the Family Tree tab. Click the "Privacy" tab and set your level to "Private with public tree" or "Private with public biography and tree".
For further information on the available Privacy levels needed to facilitate this, please see: Wikitree privacy controls
If you are adding any DNA tests to profiles on WikiTree, please be sure to add the tests to the actual test participant's profile, and that the Privacy is set to show the participant's Family Tree tab.
Our vision is to build a collaborative tree. Please make sure to look for duplicates on WikiTree before adding a profile. Having dates and locations attached to every person assists in our mission as well.
Feel free to check out How To Use WikiTree. It's a great step-by-step guide.
Also Help Index with links to topics you may have questions on. Don't forget our G2G Forum where many of our generous members help each other out.
And of course, I'm here to help in any way Im able. Just ask!
Thank you for volunteering to help grow our World Wide Family Tree. You are now a member of the WikiTree Community. Please note we are trying to build one Collaborative Tree which means one profile per person. It is important to ensure no duplicates are entered as you add any Profiles to WikiTree - if you have pre-1700's ancestors to add please read our Pre-1700 profiles info.
If you need any help getting started check out the help section from the menu, top left, or head over to the Help section or head over to the G2G forum and take a minute to introduce yourself in the Tree House, you might also want to check out the introductory WikiTree video that a member created.
Our Mentor Team are a friendly bunch of volunteers who will be glad to help you with specific problems if you have any.
Hi. Started my pedigree in 2012 with just three ladies in it: My mom, her mother, and her mother. That's all I knew, and I didn't even know my father's name.
Quickly discovered my grandmother's heritage was German Anabaptist and well recorded in the House of Sanger. Suddenly I had family back to 1655 Switzerland! Yay!
Continue the search for my dad, but instead uncovered that my mother's father was incorrect. Arrgh! Going backwards.
Now using DNA to fill in the blanks. Extended my great grandmother back to Vanderpools of NY and Netherlands, and possibly back to royal lines. Wow!
And slowly finding my mother's real paternal roots.
Slow progress on my paternal roots, since Ashkenazi heritage can be a real challenge.
Now using MS-Access and big data approach. Happy to help.
