Title: Philip Peter Wurtz grave

Henry Knoth originally created this entry.

There are multiple spellings of this man's name: Peter Phillip Virtzs Phillip Peter Wirtz Phillip Peter Wertz Peter Phillip Wurtz I have also found multiple birth dates: 13 Apr 1738, 14 Jun 1737 and 14 May 1737. Birth place is Tauberbischofsheim, Main-Tauber-Kreis, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. I have confirmation on the Germany part but not the particulars. The date of death is 22 May 1798. Place of death is either Leesburg or Lovettsville, Loudoun, Virginia, United States. The location of burial is New Jerusalem Lutheran Church Cemetery, Lovettsville, Loudoun County, Virginia, United States

Notes from Find a Grave Memorial: Even though his grave contains a new stone, this memorial will be listed under the spelling of his name from the original tombstone of Peter Virtzs. Also his date of birth is calculated based on the inscription on his original tombstone.

His original stone is located in row KK, Stone 3, reads Virtzs, Peter. d. 22 May 1798, at 60y 1m 9d.

According to the DAR Patriot Index - Volume 3, page 3155, Peter served as a Patriot Servant in the American Revolutionary War.

Wurtz-86 and Wertz-129 appear to represent the same person because: same son

Wirtz-153 and Wurtz-86 appear to represent the same person because: These two profiles have the same father. He appears to have possibly had two wives with the same first names so it is hard to tell about the mother. They have the same birthdate. Their last names are spelling variations of the same thing. They have the same siblings, etc., etc.
