Biography

Phoebe was born in 1858. Phoebe Wisemore ... She passed away in 1932.

John and Phoebe lived orr a farm 2 112 miles northeast of Ste. Marie in Ste. Marie township. The neighborhood was known as the Ridge or Cracker Ridge. The area was formed by on oxbow of the Embarras River.

John became a naturalized citizen of the United States of America on 5 Nov 1894. He gave up allegiance to William Emperor of Germany.

The 1900 Federal Census of Jasper County show that neighbors of John and Phoebe were Sherman and Josephine Enlow (children, Ira, Sylvia and Louisa), John and Elizabeth Schuch (children George and John Schackruann), Peter and Theresa Hoecherl (children Paul and George), Eliza Sheddlebower{children Frank, Mary, Martin, William and George).

Phoebe died 15 Oct 1932 at her home. Her death certificate states the cause of her death as pulmonary tuberculosis.

Mrs. Phoebe Ellen Huber

Written for the Press.

Mrs Phoebe Ellen Huber, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Wisemore, was born May 15, 1858 near Willow Hill, Jasper county, and passed away October 15, 1932 at her home near Sainte Marie following an extended illness. She was 74 years and 5 months old at the time of her death.

On July 4, 1882, she was united in marriage to John Huber, who preceded her in death December 1, 1911. To them five children were born. Surviving are Mrs. Ambrose (Minnie) Spitzer of Ste. Marie, Mrs. Ed (Nora) Kutter of Olney and Louis Huber of Willow Hill. Deceased were Mary and Louise. She also leaves eight grandchildren; one brother, James Wisemore of Little Rock, Arkansas; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at Assumption Church in Sainte Marie, Monday morning. Rev. P.I Virnich officiated Burial was in the parish cemetery."

John Huber, on Cracker Ridge, was presented with a daughter Wednesday. His wife is in a critical

condition.

July 1911

Ste. Marie

Dr. G. C. Brown took John Huber to Olney Friday, where Mr. Huber was examined at the Weber

Sanitarium. It was thought .Mr. Huber had gall stones.
