Frances was baptised on 5 April 1829 in Hale, Hampshire, England. She was the daughter of William Witt and Sidonia Collins.[1]
Immigration: 14 December 1852 in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Note: records indicate the Bombay left Plymouth on 29 August 1852 with 706 Government Migrants. It arrived at the mouth of Port Phillip Bay on 11 December 1852, but had to wait a few days at the quarantine station until cleared to go on because there was Typhus fever on board. It was allowed to berth in Melbourne on 14 December 1852.[2]
Frances died at the age of 72 on 26 January 1902 at 19 Jackson Street, Toorak, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.[3]

was in service with the family of Frederic Atkyns, a solicitor, at the time of the 1851 census, along with her brother[HID:][SS:] [Pagelink:]279;Thomas[:pagelink][:ss][:hid]. She emigrated to Australia on the same boat as the Atkyns family, who settled in Melbourne, VIC. Frederic Atkyns died in 1859, and his widow in 1868.
