Laura was born on September 11, 1849 to Hogan and Louise (nee Rattan) Witt. She was born in Collin County, Texas.
Laura lived her entire life in Collin County, Texas. She grew up with five brothers and sisters: John, Lucy, William, Orlena and Mary.
On April 27, 1868, Laura married Francis Marion Marshall in Collin County, Texas. They would have five children together: Alice, John, Anna, Arthur and Marion.
Laura passed on October 30, 1899 and is buried in Rowlett Creek Cemetery in Collin County, Texas.
