Margaret M. Witt was born on 19 December 1800 in Madison County, Kentucky. She was the daughter of William Witt and Mildred Baber.[1] She passed away on 22 June 1885 at the home of her daughter Margaret J. (Lile) Bevington in Jewell County, Kansas and is buried in Jewell City Cemetery, Jewell County.[2]
Margaret's husband, John Lile, fought in the War of 1812 from Kentucky. He was a private under Captain John S. Bush, Kentucky Militia. She received a widow's pension for his service.[3][4]

Margaret married John Lile on 15 August 1819 in Howard County, Missouri.[5][6]

According to a sworn statement by Margaret Lile on 5 June 1878 before W. W. Green, the following children were listed in the family Bible records:[7]

Margaret is living with daughter and son-in-law, Margaret and John Bevington.
Other
On 20 Aug 1835, she and her husband sold land in Fayette, Howard Co. to the Trustees of Howard College. She relinquished her dower rights as part of that transaction.[15]

Paternal relationship is confirmed by the MyHeritage chromosome browser for a validated triangulated segment on Chromosome 4 of 9.8 cM (4480 SNPS) from 15881856 – 24405145 (rs2532082 – rs79242637) between distant cousins E. Larson, A. Witt, and B. Witt. MRCA couple is John Witt and Lucy (Unknown) Witt (abt.1720-aft.1782).
Paternal relationship is confirmed on MyHeritage by a triangulated 13.3 cM segment on chromosome 6 from 131624204 to 142971133 (rs1407530 – rs116810941, 5760 SNPs). MRCAs are John Witt and Lucy (Unknown) Witt (abt.1720-aft.1782) with DNA matches from descendants E. Larson (5GGD), Westlake-546 (6GGD), and FVH (Variable). E. Larson and Westlake-546 are descended from son William E. Witt. FVH is descended from son David Witt two or three different ways, so the specific inheritance pathway of that leg is unestablished (but all through David).
