Thank you for joining WikiTree. As a WikiTree Mentor I am available to answer any questions or help solve any issues you may be having.
How To Use WikiTree is a good starting point and the Help Index is an important place to find out how to do most tasks.
Do you have Royal Ancestors? They are already here on Wikitree! Rather than create duplicate profiles for them, please contact the EuroAristo Project to discuss connecting your family line to their profiles.
Thank you for volunteering to help grow our World Wide Family Tree.
You are now a member of the WikiTree Community. Please note we are trying to build one Collaborative Tree which means one profile per person. It is important to ensure no duplicates are entered as you add any Profiles to WikiTree.
Everything on WikiTree is a collaborative work in progress so dont forget to read and sign our Honor Code. This is what keeps WikiTree a friendly and helpful community. We have many friendly members, feel free to ask if you have any questions.
I am a semi-retired attorney, genealogy geek, wife and mother of two, living in a suburb of Pitsburgh, PA. I love to do genealogical reserch for myself and others. I am an Obituary Daily Times contributor, and also volunteer via the Books We Own website. I monitor several Rootsweb forums for counties in northern West Virginia, my mother's birthplace.
I love the research aspect of finding and connecting family members. I have a lot of experience with research as a result of my profession. Because I am used to "crossing all the Is T's and dotting all the I's" I try to prevent and correct mistakes. I post as much verified information as I can find, no matter how remote the connection (if any) as a service to others. I know a lot of people don't have the access that I do. When I started researching my mother's family online in the early days of the internet, a total stranger gave me a LOT of information and helped me find information I might never have had. So my research is a way of paying it forwrd.
To help you find your way, the help pages and search features can be accessed through the links on the upper right hand corner of almost any page. Feel free to post a question in the G2G Forum or on a relevant profile page.
If you would like to contribute to Wikitree, please click the Volunteer link to receive your Volunteer badge, and post a comment here on your profile to tell us that you are interested in family history and wish to join us.
