Biography

Barbara Morgan was the daughter of Thomas Morgan & Elizabeth Vaughan. She married Henry Seymour, brother of Jane Seymour third wife of Henry VIII.

According to The Family of Morgan compiled by Appleton Morgan and printed in 1902 at the Shakespeare Press of Westfield, NJ and published in NY, NY by N. E. Genealogical Society:

p. 13 Sir John Morgan, Knight of the Sepulchre, 1448, steward of Gwentloog; married Jenet daughter and co-heir of John ap David Mathew of Llandaff. Issue: Morgan, Thomas, John, Lewis, William Morgan coroner 1501, Philip, Elizabeth, Jane, Mary, and Isabella. (Ten children, Thomas being the second son.)

p. 14-15 Thomas, second son of Sir John Morgan was of Machen; esquire of the body to Henry VII; living 1538; married Elizabeth, daughter of Roger Vaughan of Porthaml. Issue: Rowland, Reynold, John, Edmond, Margaret, Barbara, Maud, Jane, Constance, Mary, and Elizabeth.

Barbara was probably born about 1518 as her son John, probably her youngest child, was aged 18 at his father's death in 1578. [Seymour Dawn by Robin Forbes Patterson (1999): 253, citing House of Commons 1509-1558, Members by S T Bindoff].

Research Notes

Disconnected spouse Henry Seymour as contemporary sources do not name Barbara Morgan as his wife. Henry Seymour married Barbara WOLFE, daughter of Morgan Wolfe.[1][2]

Morgan-8892 and Morgan-5160 appear to represent the same person because: Possible Duplicates
Wolfe-2845 and Morgan-8892 are not ready to be merged because: the LAB for Wolfe-2845 needs to be changed to Morgan aka Wolfe.
