Biography

Mary Alice Wolfe was born November 29, 1875 and is the daughter of Edmund Wolfe and Elizabeth Cupp. Mary grew up in Mason, West Virginia and Preston County, West Virginia along with three siblings; [[Wolfe-5940]Mary Amanda Wolfe], Clemenia Bessie Wolfe and Charles Marion Wolfe.

Mary Alice married Godfrey Samuel Edwards Sr September 10, 1899[1] and they made their home Cumberland, Maryland where he worked as an engineer on a steam railroad,[2] Scott, West Virginia where he supported the family by farming,[3] Union, West Virginia where he supported the family as a fireman in a rubber company[4] and Buffalo, West Virginia where he continued farming to support the family[5] until his death September 24, 1953. Together they raised nine children; James T Edwards,[6][7] William Riggs Edwards,[8] Godfrey Samuel Edwards Jr,[9] Elsie Marie Edwards, John Oscar Edwards,[10][11] Ida Louise Edwards, Hazel Beatrice Edwards, Henry Franklin Edwards and Harry Benjamin Edwards. Mary died March 18, 1968 and is buried In Buffalo Memorial Park, Buffalo, West Virginia.[12]
