The official date of the 1840 census was 1 June 1840. So all persons living in the household on that date were included in the census, even if the enumerator came to the house in September and someone had died between June 1st and September. So we do not know when Henry's 1st wife, Milley (Pamela?) Doster, died, but on the 8th of July 1841 he married Nancy Fincher. She was probably a widow, but more investigation is needed to confirm that.
