Biography

Jacob was born in 1853. He was the son of Hiram Wolfe and Sarah Tribbett. In 1860, the family was living in Harrison Township, Knox County, Ohio.^[1] Jacob had five siblings (Sarah, Mary, Leona, Amelia, and Ida). The family was still there in 1880.^[2] Jacob was still living with his parents, single and 47 years old in 1900. He was working as a farm laborer, possibly for his father.^[3]

Jacob married Mina May Hinkle, about 36 years his junior, on 29 Jan 1908 in Knox County, Ohio.^[4] By 1910, they had one child (Ethel) and were living in Mt Vernon, Knox County, Ohio.^[5] In 1920, the family had moved to Harrison in Knox County, and had grown to include six children (Ethel, Arthur, Leroy, Edna, Leo, and Emma). Jacob was a farmer.^[6]

A daughter, Arla, was born in 1928 but only lived about three days.^[7]

By 1940, the family had grown again with the addition of four more sons - Willis, Theodore, James and Robert.^[8]

Jacob passed away in 1943 at the age of 90.^[9][10] Burial was in the Union Grove Cemetery in Gambier, Knox County, Ohio.^[11]
