Biography
Ellen was born about 840 in South Lopham, Norfolk, England. She was the daughter of John Womack and Sophia Wharton. She was christened on 13 May 1840 in South Lopham.[1]
She married Joseph HUGHES (a vicar) on 19 Mar 1859 in South Lopham. [2]After her marriage they moved to Sheffield in Yorkshire, finally settling in Ticknall, Derbyshire.[3]
They had the following children: Nelly Sophia HUGHES (born 1860 in Sheffield), Joseph H HUGHES (born 1861 in Sheffield). Joseph Leonard Wharton HUGHES (born 1863 in Sheffield - emigrated to New Zealand), William Henry Shaw HUGHES (1864 – 1936), Kathleen Frances Mary HUGHES (born 1867, Thringstone, Leicestershire – died 1932 in Flintshire, Wales).
She passed away in 1872 in Ticknall, Derbyshire, England. [4]
