Georgia Womack was born 28 June 1832 in Alabama to Charles Timothy Paul and Mary Avia Womack. She married Samuel Qualls Pierce. They had six children. Georgia died 7 June 1920 in Mexia, Freestone Co, Texas.
Samuel and Georgia were married March 1850 in Butler County,Alabama. They were parents of nine children all born in Fairfield,Freestone,Texas. She and Sam came by boat to Galveston, Texas in 1851 and had the misfortune of losing all of their possessions during the trip. Georgia was a devout christian and a member of the Church of Christ.She often visited her grandchildren who dearly loved her and welcomed her with great pleasure. Her hobbies were piecing quilts and knitting. She made beautiful knitted lace, some of which is teasured as heirlooms today. In later life she lived at Luna, Freestone,Texas until June 1919 when she made her home with her daughter, Emily Pierce Barnard in Mexia, Texas where she died[1].
