Mary Womack (c. 1744-c.1814) was the wife of William Wadlow (Wadley) of Goochland County, Virginia; later in life, she was a migrant to Rutherford County, Tennessee. Her parents are thought to have been William Womack and Martha Alexander of Goochland County (no source); if so, she is descended from the Womacks who were very early British settlers of Colonial Virginia.
Mary's marriage to William Wadlow occurred on 15 April 1768 in St. James Northam Parish in Goochland County, Colonial Virginia. The couple had at least eight children. William died about 1795; by this time the couple lived in Pittsylvania County, Va. After William's death, Mary and a number of her children appear to have moved on to Tennessee: first Sullivan County, and then Rutherford County. The surname seems to change during this time period from Wadlow to Wadley.
About 1805 Mary is thought to have married a second time to Robert Whitnel (no record survives). The best source of information about Mary is the will of Mary Whitnel, signed on 8 January 1814 and probated in Rutherford County later that year. In it she mentions five sons and three daughters and leaves something to each; it makes no mention of her husband, so he is presumed to have preceded her in death. Mary's burial place is unknown but is thought to be in Rutherford County.

Mary died ca 1814 in Rutherford County TN. (Note that ‘Wadlow’ may be a misspelling of Wadley rather than a middle name) [1]

Clearly, this is wrong, since her father died around 1733 and these Womacks were not from Goochland County. Mary Womack, daughter of Thomas Womack and Mary Farley, was the wife of DAVID MANN, and was born much closer to 1710-1725, as David Mann was born around 1710. David Mann was born in Henrico, VA, the son of Robert Mann Jr (~1680-1747), whose wife was named Mary. Robert Mann, Jr was the son of Robert Mann and his wife Isabel. The source for the Mann portion of this info is the Mann Family Research Foundation, which focuses on the extended family of Robert & Isabel Mann.
