Lavender was born in February 1859 in Smithville, DeKalb County, Tennessee. He is the son of John Womack and Nancy F Cameron.[1] He passed away in January 1945 in DeKalb County, Tennessee[2] and is buried in Smithville Town Cemetery, Smithville, DeKalb County.[3]
Lavender married Tennessee Gertrude Webb on 7 October 1882 in Warren County, Tennessee.[4] She passed away in 1920 and he remarried Mary Elizabeth Cantrell about 1922 in DeKalb County, Tennessee.
