Amos Womble was born on June 22, 1785, in North Carolina. He married Sarah Jarman in North Carolina. They had four known children during their marriage. Charles Alexander Womble, Holly J Womble, Mourning A. Womble and John J Womble. Amos in the 1910 Federal Census, he is living in Pitt, North Carolina with two members as his family. Then in in 1830 I found him and his family living in Franklin, Alabama. Amos is listed as a farmer. He died on March 29, 1869, in Frankfort, Alabama, having lived a long life of 83 years.

This Indenture made this 24th day of November in the year of Our Lord One Thousand eight hundred and twelve between Amos WOMBLE? Of the County of Jones and sd. State of North Carolina of the one part, Witnesseth that the said Amos WOMBLE for and in consideration of the sum of twenty five dollars lawful money of this state to him in hand paid by James ROADS, Senr. Or so secured the receipt for which I hereby acknowledged have given granted bargained sold enforced conveyed and for ever confirmed unto the said James ROADS, Senr, one certain tract piece or parcel of land lying and being in the County of Jones aforesaid on the noryth side of Tuckahoe Beginning at the third corner of Hall JARMANS patent at a pine then S 200 poles then s 20 Wst 100 poles the n 28 wst 184 poles then with a dividing line contracted? By Hall JARMAN, William BROCK, Benjamin SANDERS, which is the course we invoke to be N 115 Est 203 poles to the beginning containing ninety two and a half acres to the same more or less. Patented by Hall HARMAN Junr. The year of Our Lord One thousand seven hundred and eighty two and which land and premise hereditaments and appurtanances there unto belonging on in anywise appertaining the said Amos WOMBLE for himself his executors and administrators by these presents Warrant and forever defend to the said James ROADS, Senr his heirs and assigns to have and to hold to his and their duly prop—- benefits and behoof forever from the just and lawful claim of him the said Amos WOMBLE his heirs and assigns and admrs. And every other person or persons whatsoever. In testimony whereof the said Amos WOMBLE doth hereunto set his hand and affixs his seal this day and date first written.
