Biography

"Joseph Wood probably born about 1680, son of William & Martha (Earle) Wood.. Joseph was a minor over 14 years in 1697 when he chose his uncle David Lake as his guardian. In the autumn of 1701 he was granted his patrimony and he at once engaged in land deals."[1]

Joseph possibly removed to Hempstead, Long Island in 1708.

"Bertha Clark left a note stating that for the present three children of William Wood were left unfinished. Her note is "I think I shall be able to show that Joseph removed to East Jersey and died there." "

Wood-2768 and Wood-10376 appear to represent the same person because: These two look to be the same person; the primary birth dates, parents and most of the siblings match.

We need to sort out whether or not these are the same man.

Wood-10376 refers back to Wood-2768, so this merge has already happened but I can't see when and whether it was automatic. There is another issue with his wife Margaret Wood being married to two different Joseph Woods--who are definitely not the same person but both attached to her.
