Hi Joan, and welcome to WikiTree! You mentioned United Kingdom, India and New Zealand. I wanted to let you know we have some great projects here called United Kingdom Project and India Project and New Zealand Project they would be a great places for you to get involved once you have settled into WikiTree.

Good luck with your research in 2015.
Our vision is to build a collaborative tree. Please make sure to look for duplicates on WikiTree before adding a profile. Having dates and locations attached to every person assists in our mission as well.
Feel free to check out How To Use WikiTree. It's a great step-by-step guide.
Also Help Index with links to topics you may have questions on. Don't forget our G2G Forum where many of our generous members help each other out.
And of course, I'm here to help in any way Im able. Just ask!
Hi, I am an Anglo-Indian who was born and brought up in India. My ancestors traveled to India either as Soldiers in the British army or with the East India Company. I am desperately trying to piece together my "Wood" line. I do not have many leads and am hoping I will be lucky on this site! I will share any information I find with whoever needs it. I am presently living in New Zealand.
I notice you have uploaded a GEDCOM. You will find that there are several stages in the process between uploading and importing a GEDCOM. Here are some things to do while you are waiting for your emailed match report:
Consider reading discussions about GEDCOMs in our forum, G2G
(After importing a large GEDCOM with multiple sources, I found that adding profiles by hand would have been more efficient. If you have a lot of sources for each profile, consider using the match function, but not the import.)
Welcome to WikiTree! As a guest, you can search for ancestors and participate in G2G, WikiTrees forum.
Please look at the drop-down menus in the upper right corner and read our Honor Code.
If you would like help with WikiTree's mission to grow one worldwide tree (free, no spam), click the "Volunteer" button, then post a comment on your profile indicating that you would like to add info to the tree.
