Biography

On the 1850 Census a 24 year old John Norris is living with his 22 year old wife Elisabeth and 9 month old son William. This Census shows that John was born in Ohio, his wife Elisabeth was born in North Carolina and their son was born in Indiana, which is where they are living at the time of the Census: Pike, Marion, Indiana, United States.^[1] A 33 year old Elizabeth is shown on the 1860 Census, living with her 34 year old husband -Levi, 10 year old son William J, 8 year old daughter Almeda Norris and a 25 year old John W Norris. "(relationship unknown, both John W and Levi show their birthplace as Ohio. Levi's gravestone shows his name as "John Levi Norris- so it seems unlikely this is a brother.Patton-2407 12:21, 4 September 2015 (EDT))" Also living with them is a 23 year old Sidney Washburn , who was also born in Ohio. They are now living in Hawcreek Township, Morgan County, Missouri. ^[2] According to Findagrave Memorial 5418550 he was born on Jun. 5, 1826 and died on Jul. 11, 1886. His wife's name was Elizabeth Matilda Wood Norris (1826 - 1899). ^[3]
