Clare Emily Wood, age 17, died Sunday, August 10, 2014.

Rosary was recited at 7:30 PM on Fri, August 15, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Clayton, New Mexico by Fr. Glenn Jones and Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10:00 AM on Saturday, August 16, at Yellow Jacket Gymnasium with Fr. Joel Bugas, Celebrant. Burial followed in the Clayton Memorial Cemetery by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton.

Clare Emily Wood was born on October 7, 1996 in Amarillo, Texas to Chip Wood and Sammie (Britt) Wood. Clare attended school in Clayton and she was involved in Clayton High School volleyball, FFA and Cheer and was a member of the National Honor Society. Clare loved her friends and she loved to dance. She always looked forward to the Homecoming week activities and dressing up. Clare was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Clayton.

Paternal Grandparents: Eddie Frank and Barbara Faye Wood of Meade, Oklahoma.

Aunts & Uncles: Sandy Wyley-Vaughn and Barry Vaughn of Amarillo, Texas, Shelley and Ross Carter of Clayton, New Mexico, Lisa and Rick Brown of Meade, Oklahoma.

Cousins: Sam Wyley, Cydni and Bart Wyatt, Kyle and Andy Wyley, Chase and Jamie Carter, Britt and Jeremy Fisk, Rozann and Sean Lee, Todd and Bandi Mahaffey and Corey and Dannica Higgins.

Great-Uncle and Aunt: James and Jackie Wood.

And many friends that she loved.

Memorials: The family asks that in lieu of flowers, they would like for friends and family to have Mass for Clare at their home parishes.
