In Blythe Township MCAR 1840, Buffalo Fork Township MCAR 1850. Patsy was a widow in Blythe Township in 1860. They raised John D. Hurst (son of William & Narcissa [Magness] Hurst) b 1847; his mother died when he was 8 days old, gave him to her sister to raise.

Jones “Some History of Marion County” Solomon, son of Judge Wood, married Patsy Magness, daughter of Pioneer James Magness, the first white man in Yellville. Solomon settled on Crooked creek, some 15 miles west of Yellville, on what was then Marion, but now Boone county. "Uncle Jack" Hurst, nephew to Patsy, was mostly reared in this home.
