Biography

Eola Olia “Ollie” Wood was born on December 8, 1881 in Quitman, Texas to Thomas Jefferson and Mary Jane (Williford) Wood. She married Earl Voorhees on January 31, 1901 in Wood County, Texas. They were the parents of Herman Daniel (1902-1977), Jessie Lee (1907-1934), Roy (1910-1936), Woodrow (1914-1938), and Mary Jane (1917-1993). She later married Arthur Franklin Sims. She died on June 18, 1957 in Terrell, Texas, at the age of 75, and was buried in Ebenezer Cemetery in Oak Grove, Texas.
