Biography

Elizabeth Woods is named in the DAR Patriot Index as wife of William Peach, son of William Peach and Elizabeth Gaither. [1]

Notes

Email from E. Peach to Emily: "...Just to recap a bit. Charles Wood was the father of Elizabeth Wood, wife of our several times grandfather, William Peach. Do you have the information that Elizabeth Wood had a sister, Sarah and that Sarah and Elizabeth were married on the same day in Baltimore? Sarah married a man named William Chaplin. They all moved to Fayette County in the late 1700s and 1800s. William shows up for a while on the tax rolls and census. We have since discovered that Joseph Peach (your William's brother) along with Isaac Wood moved to Salem Twp, Hightland County Ohio. Joseph married a woman named Martha and they both died with in a short time of each other in 1849. They had a least 3 daughters. William Chaplin and family moved here also. Then later the Chaplins moved to Pike County, Indiana...where your William ended up."
