Funeral Services for Mrs. Mary Bridges Held - A last tribute was paid to Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Bridges of near Eclectic on Monday afternoon when friends gathered at the Methodist church to attend the funeral services for her. Rev. A. F. Howington, pastor of the Methodist church had charge of the services. "In the Land Where We Never Grow Old," was sweetly sung by Mrs. A. P. Howington and Mr. J. D. Edwards. Another requested hymn used was "Shall We Gather at the River." Mrs. Bridges was a member of the Methodist church from early childhood. She was 90 years of age and was loved by all who knew her. Interment was made in the Eclectic cemetery where beautiful floral gifts from many friends made a mass of beauty on the new made grave. The pallbearers were Forest Bridges, Carl Hawkins, Allen Williams, Chester and Mack Bridges, all grandsons. Surviving are six sons, C. L. Bridges of Eclectic, W. J. Bridges of Notasulga, M. W. Bridges of Tuskegee, W. N. Bridges of Bay Minette, W. H. Bridges of Texas one daughter, Mrs. Jim Hawkins of Tuskegee. Among those from a distance attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Jack Bryan of Tuskegee, Mr. and Mrs. Allen Williams of Tallahasee, Mr. and Mrs. L. M. Evans of Tallassee, Rev. J. R. Hudgens of Notasulga, Mr. Charlton Slocomb of Notasulga, Mr. and Mrs. Chester Bridges and son, Mr. and Mrs. Forest Bridges and daughter, Mack and Mitchell Bridges all of Montgomery.
